HCCC Appoints New Faculty News RSS Feed

Herkimer County Community College President Ann Marie Murray recently announced the appointment of three new faculty.

Dr. Maggie Pee, of Guilderland, has been appointed Assistant Professor of Environmental Science. Pee comes to HCCC from Columbus State Community College in Columbus, Ohio where she taught Chemistry. She also taught Design of Treatment Facilities at The Ohio State University. Pee has a B.S. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with minor in Soil Science all from The Ohio State University.

Monica Hack-Polkosnik, of Utica, has been appointed Lecturer-Crime Analysis. Hack-Polkosnik has been employed as an adjunct at HCCC for the past year. Prior to coming to HCCC, she worked as a police officer and sergeant in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She is a Georgia certified sworn police officer and a certified crime analyst through the state of California. Hack-Polkosnik holds an A.A.S. in Criminal Justice from Mohawk Valley Community College, a Bachelor of Professional Science from SUNY Institute of Technology and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Georgia at Athens.

John McLean has been appointed Lecturer-Social Sciences. McLean taught as an adjunct at HCCC during the Spring 2009 semester. A native of the Herkimer area, McLean comes to HCCC from SUNY Buffalo where he taught history classes. McLean earned a B.A. in History and English from St. John Fisher College and a M.A. in History from SUNY Buffalo. He is currently working toward a Ph.D. in History at SUNY Buffalo.
