HCCC Baseball Team Competes in NJCAA Division III World Series

Herkimer County Community College’s baseball team is in Tyler, TX competing in the NJCAA Division III World Series.
The Generals began tournament play on May 22 defeating Waubonsee Community College (Sugar Grove, IL) 5-2 in 12 innings. They improved to 2-0 in the World Series by defeating Nassau Community College (Garden City, NY) 6-2 on May 23.
On Monday, the team suffered their first loss of the tournament to Gloucester Community College (Sewell, NJ), losing 9-1 in 7 innings. The loss put the Generals in the loser’s bracket of the double elimination tournament. They will face the winner of Manchester Community College (Manchester, CT) vs. Tyler Junior College (Tyler, TX) tonight at 8 p.m. EST. If the Generals win tonight, they will advance to the championship round beginning Wednesday at 8 p.m. EST.
