HCCC Softball Signs Local Recruit
March 29, 2010
Herkimer County Community College’s women’s softball head coach PJ Anadio recently announced the signing of a national letter of intent by Little Falls High School senior Olivia Tooley to play for the Generals next year.
Tooley is the first local recruit for Anadio since taking over the softball head coaching position. He says “I’m particularly happy with the signing of Olivia on a number of levels. I love local kids and hopefully, by making such a splash with the first one, it opens the flood gates for more local kids to stay at home. I truly believe in the Herkimer community and the surrounding area and see the potential that’s here in our own backyard.”
When asked what he expects out of Tooley, Anadio said “I try not to put a lot of expectations on a young student-athlete right away, but if there is one person who understand what they are here for and what’s expected of them, it’s Olivia. She knows the plan from day one right through graduation and I know she will go above and beyond those expectations. Lots of skill coupled with a great work ethic should translate into two great years for her.”
Tooley, a three-sport athlete at Little Falls, also plans to play on the women’s basketball team for head coach John Campagna while at Herkimer.
