Lacrosse Players Named to Mountain Valley Conference Lacrosse Team

Several Herkimer County Community College lacrosse players were named to the 2011 All Mountain Valley Conference Lacrosse Team; and Daniel Moriarty, a senior Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major from Rockville Center was named Player of the Year. Interim Head Coach David Kramer was named Coach of the Year.
Named to the All Mountain Valley Conference Team were attackman Zachary Lessler, a senior Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major from Owego; midfielder C.J. Fleming, a freshman Liberal Arts & Sciences: Physical Education major from Middletown; defenseman Jake Burns, a senior Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major from Altamont; and goalie Dustyn Lyons, a senior Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major from Vancouver, Washington.
Moriarty was a leader on and off the field, with 14 goals and 30 assists. “Dan’s 30 assists were the most in the nation from the midfield position,” Coach Kramer said. “Dan’s hard work throughout the year was rewarded with be named the Mohawk Valley Conference Player of the Year. Dan represented Herkimer proudly, with great effort and sportsmanship throughout the year. We wish him great success in the future.”
Kramer, who completed his first season with the Generals, was formerly the Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Hamilton College. He also coached at Anne Arundel Community College, Maryland, and at the high school level. He was a four-year letterman at the University of Massachusetts, following a standout high school career on Long Island.
The Generals finished their regular season with a record of 7-6.
