Renewable Energy for Teens Course Offered at Herkimer

Herkimer County Community College is offering a non-credit youth program in renewable energy.
Renewable Energy for Teens will be offered in two sessions. Session A is for 13-15 year olds, and will be held Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Session B is for ages 16-18 and will be held Monday, August 1 through Thursday, August 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In this course, students will learn about the fundamentals of wind power, solar power, alternative fuels and other basic renewable energy resources. Projects will include designing the blades for wind turbines, creating biodiesel and much more. The fee is $78 per session. Materials are included. Registration deadline is July 21, 2011.
