Security Guard Training

Herkimer County Community College is accepting registrations for the Eight Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course for those interested in a career as a security guard.
All security guards are required to complete an Eight Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course prior to applying to the Department of State for a Security Guard Registration Card. This is a general introductory course covering topics such as the role of a security guard, legal powers and limitations, emergency response, access control, communications and ethics. Upon successful completion of this course, the guard is issued a training certificate that must accompany the security guard’s registration application when submitted to the Department of State.
Classes are to be held on Monday, November 10 from 5-9 pm and on Wednesday November 12 from 5-9:30 pm. The fee is $59.
