Spring ‘13 New Student Orientation

Herkimer County Community College will hold Spring ‘13 New Student Orientation Thursday, January 17 and Friday, January 18. New residential students will arrive 9am-4pm Thursday, with a session for parents “Understanding the College Years” from 3-4pm in the McLaughlin College Center amphitheater, RMCC 288. A student welcome mixer will be held from 8-10pm in Alumni Hall, RMCC 217.
Friday’s program will begin with check-in from 9-10 am in the McLaughlin College Center. Following a welcome at 10 am, students will meet with their academic advisor. Campus offices will be open with faculty/staff available to address individual student concerns. Students will attend an afternoon session on team building. Time will be available to visit the College Bookstore; Financial Aid, Bursar or Health Offices as well as the Computer Lab. A new residential student meeting will be held at 6pm in the Sarkus-Busch Theater, located in the McLaughlin College Center, RMCC 247.
Entertainment will be provided Friday evening by “Cell Phone Wars Game Show” at 7 p.m. in the Sarkus-Busch Theater, RMCC 247. Weekend trips will include a Saturday shuttle bus to Sangertown Mall, New Hartford and Pin-o-rama Bowling Lanes in Utica; a van to Herkimer Walmart on Sunday and Game Night in Alumni Hall on Monday, January 21 from 3-6 p.m.
