Statement from President Murray on Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s State of the State Address

“We applaud Governor Cuomo for his continued support of SUNY. The expansion of the NYSUNY 2020 Challenge Grant Act to all SUNY campuses clearly supports SUNY’s strategic plan and Chancellor Zimpher’s pledge for SUNY to be an economic driver for New York State. Herkimer County Community College and all community colleges will have equal access to funds that are vital in creating programs necessary to respond to the economic and workforce development needs of our communities.
“I am also grateful to Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver for his pledge of support for increased funding for SUNY. Keeping our tuition affordable is so very critical in providing access to all New York State residents who can benefit from a higher education.”
