Resume Writing & Critique

Resume writing is a great exercise to help you focus on your strengths and is a necessary tool in the job search. Using a resume for part-time positions is recommended as it will set you apart in a positive way from your competition. Additionally, resumes are also useful when applying to transfer institutions and for scholarships.

The Career Center has resources available to help you create your resume. So, don't wait to write your resume until you completed your Associate degree (or worse your Bachelor Degree) as you will lose track of important details over time.

Also, you may drop off your resume and cover letter for a critique. If necessary, a meeting can be scheduled to answer your questions regarding the layout and content of your resume. Resumes and cover letters may also be sent electronically to paddocksm@herkimer.edu to be critiqued by the Career Counselor.
