Freshman Orientation Sessions
Tutors conduct Academic Support Center Orientations for Freshman Seminar classes and content area classes in the Academic Support Center. Covered in these sessions are Academic Support Center services, Academic Support personnel, the appointment-making process, instructional software and videotapes and Academic Support Center hours.
Tutor Facilitated Study Groups
These tutorials are usually professor or student driven and are geared toward a specific exam or course material. Contact the Academic Support Center for more information.
Student Workshops
Tutors offer workshops periodically in specific areas of interest, including documentation, study skills, and content-area skills.
College Adjustment Program (CAP)
Improve your academic standing by raising your Grade Point Average. CAP offers students a variety of options to help them achieve their goals. Available to you at NO CHARGE, CAP can provide:
- NC 200 Structured Study: A non-credit group that meets twice a week offering study strategies. motivation, and assistance with achieving academic success.
- Individualized Programs: For students who choose not to be in a group setting
- Computers: Provided exclusively for CAP students
- Mentors: Offering social and academic support
- Tutors: Providing professional tutoring, free of charge
- Grade Tracking: Monitoring attendance and academic progress throughout the semester
