How to Adjust Spam Filters
If you are not receiving mail from HCCC at your non-college e-address, your spam filter might need to be adjusted. Here are solutions for two of the most popular service providers—others will be similar.
Hotmail:
- Log in
- Click Options (right side of screen)
- Click Mail (left side)
- Click Junk E-Mail Protection
- Click Safe List
- Click in the "Type an address or domain" box and type "@herkimer.edu"
- Click OK
Yahoo (old interface):
- Log in
- Click Options (right side of screen)
- Click Filters (middle)
- Click Add button
- Click in the "From header" text box and type "@herkimer.edu"
- Click the "Move message to:" drop-down and click "Inbox"
- Click Add Filter button (lower-left)
Yahoo (new Beta interface):
- Log in
- Click Options (upper right side of screen)
- From the drop-down menu, click Mail Options
- Click Filters (left column)
- Click Create or Edit Filters
- Click Add
- Click in the "From header" text box and type "@herkimer.edu"
- Click the "Move message to:" drop-down and click "Inbox"
- Click Add Filter button (lower-left)
