Mckayla ganci Rome College Foundation Scholarship Winner

Herkimer College student Mckayla Ganci, of Frankfort, was the recent recipient of the Charles T. Beeching/Revere Copper Products Family Scholarship.  Ganci received the honor at the Rome College Foundation Scholarship Luncheon held on February 14.

Ganci, a second-year psychology major, says she hopes to pursue her masters in forensic psychology and criminology. She says she has always been interested in the facets of the human mind and is very much an empath.

“Forensic psychology will involve working with inmates who need extra help with mental health but may have a hard time asking for it,” Ganci said. “Working in this type of setting will make it easier for those who need help to receive it.”

Ganci has been accepted to SUNY Brockport and credits her Herkimer College experience in preparing her for the next leg of her journey.

“My psychology professors and professors in general have been wonderful. There is general respect there and even within the student body.”
