Please be sure to carefully review and follow the procedures listed here:

  • Prior to arrival on campus, students must follow a 14-day precautionary self-quarantine requirement. Students will be required to attest to this upon arrival. All other members of the student’s household should also follow a 14-day self-quarantine. Students will also be required to complete a health screening questionnaire upon arrival.

  • Students coming to New York State from designated states must quarantine for 14 days after arriving in New York State. The list of designated states is here: https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/covid-19-travel-advisory#restricted-states

Students from designated states must also complete the online health form required by New York State which can be found here: https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/covid-19-travel-advisory. This health form must be completed online, and the student must take a screen shot of the last page and submit a copy to the campus upon arrival.

  • Each student is allowed to have one family member assist with moving items into the apartment. The student and one family member will be tested with the rapid diagnostic test for COVID-19. The student and family member will remain in a designated parking area until test results are confirmed. If either the student or family member receives a positive test result, the student will be required to return home. Both the student and the family member must receive negative test results in order to continue with the move-in process.

  • We will be utilizing “family status” for apartment-mates, which means that students will not be required to wear face coverings or maintain social distancing when inside their own apartments with their apartment-mates.

  • Students will be required to sign the HERKSafe student pledge agreeing to follow the protocols set forth by the College. Infractions of the HERKSafe pledge will be considered a violation of the Student Code of Conduct, and may result in removal from on-campus housing and/or expulsion from the College.

If you should have any questions or concerns about information in this letter, please contact us at reslifehousing@herkimer.edu or 315-867-2222.

We look forward to seeing you in September. Enjoy the rest of the summer.
