October 31st Update on COVID Testing

As a result of our COVID-19 pooled surveillance testing efforts, at this time, we are aware of three positive test results. The three individuals confirmed positive are commuter students who will remain in isolation until cleared by their healthcare providers and/or local health departments.

We are working closely with the local public health departments to conduct contact tracing. We are in the process of contacting faculty, staff and classmates of each of the individuals to notify them of potential exposure. Those who have potentially been exposed are being instructed to self-quarantine and monitor for symptoms until they are notified by their local public health departments with further information and instructions.

It is important to highlight that our testing efforts are helping to ensure that individuals with COVID-19, as well as those potentially exposed, are identified and notified in a timely manner. We appreciate the ongoing support and cooperation of those participating in the required testing, as it is critical to mitigating the spread of the virus to others on campus and in the community. This also reinforces the importance for all of us to be vigilant in wearing facial coverings, washing our hands often, and maintaining a safe distance from others.

We will continue to alert you about any COVID-19 cases impacting our campus.
