Summer Math Camp (Virtual)
Summer Math Camp is a five-week program designed for new students whose math placement test scores require them to take a non-credit developmental math course. Upon completion of Summer Math Camp, students will have a chance to retake the placement test and test out of the developmental math course.
This year's camp will be delivered virtually. . If you choose to attend, you will need a computer, or other comparable electronic device to join in on the meeting. It is recommended, but not required, that you have a webcam as well. You may also wish to have a notebook to work on examples, and use as reference when attempting other practice questions. Upon confirmation of registration, a link will be provided in a confirmation email to allow you to access the Math Camp.
You can choose between two different times:
Choice A: Tuesdays & Thursdays, July 14-August 13, 10:00 a.m. – Noon
Choice B: Tuesdays & Thursdays, July 14-August 13, 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
While there is a $35 fee to attend the camp, you can save a great deal of time and money by testing out of the developmental math class.
If you test out of the pre-requisite developmental math requirement, it’ll be one less math class you’ll be required to take. Thus, this strategy could save you both time and money PLUS put you on track to potentially graduate from Herkimer College in four semesters.
The program is first-come, first-served and has a limit of 20 participants per session.
