Herkimer College Children’s Center Recognized by Child Care Council of Cornell Cooperative Extension

The Herkimer College Children’s Center and two staff members recently received awards at the Child Care Council of Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Friend of Children Recognition Dinner.

The Children’s Center, along with child care staff Kathleen Netti and Toni Montana, were presented with the ‘Friend of Children Award.’ The Children’s Center was recognized for its family-friendly services and demonstrated leadership in establishing family-friendly policies which allow Herkimer College employees, students and community parents the ability to balance work, school and family. Netti and Montana were recognized individually for their direct influence in providing excellent care and education to children.

Director of the Child Care Center Pamela Mazzorana said, “I am proud of the entire staff at our center and am so glad that they were recognized for their dedication to our children and families we serve.”

The Children’s Center serves Herkimer College students, employees and the general public. It’s accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and is open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Breakfast, lunch and a snack are provided.
