Herkimer College’s Taylor Hardy Presented Criminal Justice Scholarship

Herkimer College Cybersecurity student Taylor Hardy, of Boonville NY, was presented with a Criminal Justice Scholarship by the New York State Sheriffs’ Association Institute on January 31, 2017.

The $250.00 scholarship was presented to Hardy by Herkimer County Sheriff Chris Farber and Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.

Upon graduation from Herkimer College, Hardy plans to continue her education at Embry-Riddle majoring in Cyber Intelligence and Security.

“Taylor was selected for this award because of her exceptional leadership and academic achievements,” April Harris, Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity, said. “Balancing many responsibilities, Taylor is a high achiever, and she is entering Embry-Riddle with an academic scholarship due to being in the top three percent of transferring students.”

The Cybersecurity program at Herkimer College is certified by the Information Assurance Courseware Evaluation (IACE) Program. Students in this program study a combination of criminal justice and computer-technology courses to help develop the skills needed to work in this growing, emerging career field.

The NYS Sheriffs Association Institute is dedicated to the improvement of lives for all, especially our youth.
