Kalman Socolof Honored with Emeritus Status

The Herkimer County Community College Board of Trustees recently approved Emeritus status for Professor Kalman Socolof.

Professor Kalman Socolof was hired by Herkimer County Community College in August of 1979 as an Instructor of Humanities/Radio and TV. He was promoted to Assistant Professor effective September 1, 1983, to Associate Professor in September 1993, and to Professor in 2003 with tenure granted in 1986. His 38 years of service has also included participating in shared governance, having served on the following committees: Facilities, Information Services, Academic Policies, Library, Campus Safety, Cultural Diversity, Special Events and Recognitions, and the Strategic Planning Council, as well as chairing the Curriculum Committee and Promotion and Tenure Committee.

Emeritus status is an honor granted by the Board of Trustees to retired professional, academic and administrative staff members who have demonstrated excellence and commitment to making Herkimer College the exceptional institution it is today.
