Herkimer College to host Alaskan Experience: Goal Setting, Team Building & Motivation

Herkimer College will host Spencer Thew and his presentation Alaskan Experience: Goal Setting, Team Building & Motivation on Wednesday, November 14, from 1:25 p.m. to 2:25 p.m. in The Robert McLaughlin College Center, room 288.

Thew, an Iditarod veteran with over 30 years’ experience training and working with dog sled teams, will discuss the importance of goal setting, teambuilding and motivation as well as possibly bringing along one of his Siberian Huskies.

Having completed the Iditarod, 1,161 miles of race, with his dogs in 1993, he tells his story of the challenge and successes of such an experience. Covering the roughest terrain in Alaska, Thew is only one of less than 400 mushers that have actually finished the race.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Center for Student Leadership and Involvement at 315-574-4032 or studentactivities@herkimer.edu.
