Kali Puppolo named Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year, PJ Anadio named Co-Coach of the Year

The Herkimer Generals Softball team had nine players earn spots on the 2019 Mountain Valley Conference first and second teams. Coach PJ Anadio was also named Mountain Valley Conference Co-Coach of the Year for 2019.

Sophomore Kali Puppolo (Adams, MA) was named Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year while fellow sophomores Jennah Hogan (East Greenbush, NY), Taylor Zaino (Newport, NY), Natasha Holt (Melbourne, Austraila) and Mackenzie Keeler (Jamesville, NY) were joined by freshman Vani Patel (Eastvale, CA) on the first team. Sophomore Brooke Snyder (Santee, CA), freshmen Brianna Hoskins (Washington Township, NJ) and Taylor Betz (Cheektowaga, NY) were named to the second team.

“To have nine players named to the All-Conference Team is an absolute honor. It speaks volumes about the talent lever, depth and dedication of all these girls,” said Coach PJ Anadio. “To have Kali Puppolo be recognized as player of the year is fantastic and well deserved. Lastly, to get the coach of the year honor is incredible and a testament to all of my phenomenal coaches associated with Herkimer Softball who give their all on a daily basis.”

The Generals finished their season with a record of 48-8 as they won the Region III Championship for the 8th straight season and finished 2nd in the 2019 NJCAA Division III National Championships in Rochester, Minnesota.
