Herkimer College invites public to annual Fall Fest & Alumni Weekend celebration

Help Herkimer College kick off the autumn season by attending its upcoming Fall Fest & Alumni Weekend.

This annual celebration brings campus members and the local community at large together for a day of fun, food, entertainment and more in honor of the coming school year. Organized by the College’s Center for Student Leadership and Involvement and the Herkimer County College Foundation, Inc., the day will include:

  • An interactive experience with a variety of live animals from the Utica Zoomobile
  • Birds of Prey program presented by Cindy Page of Page Wildlife Center, Manlius, NY
  • A demonstration by Mark Tyoe, master chainsaw artist
  • 13th Annual Antique and Classic Cars, Trucks, and Motorcycles Show & Awards Ceremony
  • Music all afternoon by DJ “Red Hot ‘n Wild”
  • Cartoon caricatures by W.C. Pope
  • Magical entertainment by Shaun Robison, “The Charming Deceptionist”
  • Solar star gazing with the Mohawk Valley Astronomical Society
  • A DIY fall themed painting activity with Jill Rae Vennera of “Easels on the Gogh”
  • Pumpkin painting
  • Horse drawn wagon rides provided by Waite Family Percherons of Edmeston, NY

At 8 p.m., attendees will head to the lower college parking lot for a bonfire, live music with acoustic karaoke by John Rush, cider and doughnuts.

Organizers are also welcoming donations for The General’s Cupboard, a recently debuted on-campus initiative that provides free food and personal care items to students who may be in need. Donations of non-perishable food items and toiletries will be collected at the event.

Fall Fest runs from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28. All activities are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated at the event. A full list of activities can be found at Herkimer.edu/fallfest.
