HERKIMER, NY – Herkimer Generals sophomore Jonathan Feiler, St. James, NY, was named first-team All-American by the NJCAA last week for his play in division III.

Feiler, a Liberal Arts and Sciences: General Studies major at Herkimer College, accumulated some impressive numbers during the 2013-2014 season, most notably scoring 791 points, the most in the nation. It helped the Generals win their second consecutive Region III Championship, but also got Herkimer in the national tournament in back-to-back seasons as well.

Offense wasn’t Feiler’s only contribution to the team though. The forward averaged 10.4 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game, amassing 365 total rebounds and 92 blocks in 35 games, fourth best in the country in each category respectively.

Feiler’s head coach for the last two seasons has been Matt Lee. Lee couldn’t say enough good things about his senior stating, “Jon came into this season with the determination to help his team in any way that he could. Not only did his offense improve from last season, but his defense did as well, consistently giving opponents a lot to handle on both ends of the floor. I’m proud of his achievement and look for his success to continue in the future, both on and off the court.”
