New Student Orientation

Herkimer College will hold New Student Orientation on Thursday, August 21 and Friday, August 22.

New residential students will move into campus housing Thursday, August 21 between 9 am and 4 pm. Student ambassadors will help new students and families locate their classrooms and other campus locations from 2-4 pm. A program, “The Herkimer Experience: Q & A for Parents /Families” will be held in the Robert McLaughlin College Center, room 288 from 3-4 pm while a student Q & A meeting is held in the Robert McLaughlin College Center, room 247. A mandatory meeting for first year residential students will take place from 6-7 pm in the Sarkus-Busch Theater. A mandatory meeting for commuter students will be held in the Robert McLaughlin College Center, room 288 from 6-7pm followed by a welcome mixer at 7pm in the College Center, room 217.

Student check-in on Friday, August 22 will begin at 8:30 am in the Technology Center followed by Convocation at 9 am in the Varsity Gymnasium. Immediately following Convocation, students will meet with their academic advisors. There will be a Generals Block Party & Club/Organization Fair in the afternoon. “Music in the Meadows” will take place from 7-10pm with “Bryan Howell and the Standalones” followed by “Jason Davis & The New Philosophers.”
