David Champoux

For providing critical leadership in the development of academic programs and facilities at the College. 

Mr. Champoux served as an associate dean of academic affairs and division chair and was responsible for developing the Radio/TV Broadcasting program, one of the College’s early “flagship” programs. Mr. Champoux established WVHC as a licensed radio station, and was also responsible for establishing the first community access cable TV outlet in Herkimer County, based on the campus. He facilitated the transition of radio and TV broadcasting to a digital format, and guided the development of the first distance learning program. Mr. Champoux also played a key role in designing the Technology Center. During his more than thirty years at Herkimer College, Mr. Champoux earned a reputation as an innovative leader, teacher and mentor.
