Herkimer Lacrosse names Zach St. Hilaire and Ryan Sparacino captains for the 2020 season

Herkimer, NY—Herkimer County Community College head men’s lacrosse coach Jamie Ireland has named seniors Zach St. Hilaire and Ryan Sparacino as captains for the 2020 season.

The Generals open their season on Sunday, March 15 with a road game at Mercer College in New Jersey.

“I am proud to announce that Zach and Ryan will represent us our captains for 2020,” Ireland said. “They have both have worked hard on and off the field over the past year. Well deserved!”

St. Hilaire, a physical education major from Brasher Falls, New York, started every game as a freshman in 2019 and was Herkimer’s leading scorer with 37 goals and 15 assists. He plans to continue his lacrosse career at Brockport or Cortland in 2021.

Sparacino, who is from Deerfield, New York, and majors in criminal justice, also started every game as a freshman for the Generals. He led Herkimer’s defense in ground balls and caused turnovers in 2019. He will complete his associate’s degree in 2020 and start his career in criminal justice.
