The Winter Mini Session 2019 will run from Wednesday, January 2, 2019 through Tuesday, January 22, 2019.
The winter mini session is a great opportunity for students to complete general education requirements and stay on track for degree completion. Many students who enroll during the winter session are matriculated at other colleges, and are able to transfer courses back to their home colleges to satisfy degree requirements.
More than one-third of the courses offered during Herkimer’s winter mini session are utilizing Open Educational Resources (OER), which means that textbooks are replaced with high quality no-cost digital resources. These alternative textbooks are accessible online from the first day of class, and students pay only a nominal fee of $20 for OER courses, instead of purchasing expensive textbooks.
If you are not a current Herkimer College student and you are interested in taking a course fill out the non-matriculated application at www.herkimer.edu/apply, and then wait two business days to register for your course. Directions for registration can be found in your confirmation email once you submit your non-matriculated application.
Online registration will end Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. Starting on December 24, 2018 and ending Wednesday, January 2, 2019, registration must be done in person or via telephone, with payment due immediately upon registration. Please note: the college will be closed for all business on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 and Tuesday January 1, 2019. For those who complete the non-matriculated application on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, you should call to register no later than 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Non-matriculated applications will not be accepted after 11:59 p.m. on January 1, 2019.
