This workshop focuses on a number of trending issues and events, including the Informed Consent, Intimate Partner Violence, and the Stanford Rape Case. Alternating between engaging group activities and small group discussion, this workshop gives participants a deep overview of critical issues as well as an opportunity to discuss/contemplate/role-play effective strategies for Intervention.
THE BYSTANDER is an educational one-man show addressing Bystander Intervention and Informed Consent. An assault occurs at an off-campus party and a range of compelling characters (both students and staff members) are confronted by the challenges of how to act as an Empowered Bystander. THE BYSTANDER contemplates a range of issues concerning personal and social responsibility, the "how to" of Intervention, and the true meaning of community. This engaging and timely show is followed by an interactive talk-back designed to further illuminate the issues brought up in the play.
