Green and Gold Event to Feature Mookie Wilson and Bill Buckner Appearance and Robert Channing Performance

The Herkimer County College Foundation will host former New York Mets legend Mookie Wilson and former Boston Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner for a special “Green and Gold Event” at Herkimer College. The pair are best known for their infamous play in game six of the ’86 World Series. Following their appearance, mentalist and speed painter Robert Channing will perform an ESP/mind reading show.

The event will be held Saturday, May 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Herkimer College gymnasium and will include a social hour with carving & pasta stations, hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the recently established Herkimer Generals athletic endowment to support the nationally-ranked program’s participation in post-season tournaments.

Herkimer College is a Division III member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and has accumulated 53 national championships, 103 Region III titles, 145 Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference championships and 30 National Academic team of the Year Awards. Currently, the program is ranked first in the nation among NJCAA non-scholarship athletic programs.
