Students enrolled in Cazenovia College’s Inclusive Early Childhood and Inclusive Elementary Education programs at Herkimer College volunteered at the Walk for Autism on Saturday, April 9 at SUNY Poly. The students created and offered a sensory area, puzzle piece mural, ball toss, balloon animals and bracelets for attendees. Some students also walked with the more than 800 people who took part in the event. Proceeds from the event will support the Kelberman Center in Utica, NY which offers programs and services for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The Cazenovia/Herkimer education program allows students to earn their bachelor’s degree in either Inclusive Early Childhood Education or Inclusive Elementary Education from Cazenovia while on the campus of Herkimer College.
