Bobesky Publishes Article on Ukrainian-Americans

Herkimer County Community College Assistant Professor of Human Services Christina Bobesky recently published an article with Matthew Mulvaney in the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies for the Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group, titled Ukrainian and American identities as predictors of marital and parenting attitudes within the acculturating Ukrainian-American community.

The article examines the process of acculturation within the Ukrainian community in the United States and how acculturation processes are related to attitudes on childrearing and traditional family formation. A total of 188 participants were drawn from the Ukrainian diaspora in Central New York for the study.

Bobesky joined the Herkimer College faculty in 2015 and holds a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and a master’s degree from Oswego State University.
