Herkimer College to Offer Non-Credit Youth Classes

Herkimer College will be offering non-credit youth summer classes.

Art Camp will teach students to create artwork with various mediums such as watercolor, plaster, clay and wire. Activities will include both indoor and outdoor projects, complete with a mini art show at the end of the week. The camp is open to kids ages 8 to 13 and will run from Monday, July 11 to Thursday, July 14 from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Pre-registration is required by Friday, July 1. The fee is $89.

Calling All Fashionistas will focus on developing personal style, natural beauty and the basics of colors in fashion. Projects include tie-dye, bedazzling, headbands, purses and much more. At the end of the week, participants will stroll the runway in a mini fashion show. The camp is for kids ages 6 to 11 and will run from Monday, July 18 to Thursday, July 21 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Pre-registration is required by Monday, July 11. The fee is $85.

Weather Watchers will teach participants about the different types of weather phenomenon. Topics will include lake effect snow, thunderstorms, hurricanes and tornadoes. The camp is for kids ages 9-13, and will run from Monday, July 11 to Thursday, July 14 from 10:00 to 12:30 pm. Pre-registration is required by Friday, July 1. This camp will be taught by WKTV meteorologist Bill Kardas. The fee is $69.
