Bio

Grace AshlineGrace Ashline is instructor and supervisor of the Human Services Program at Herkimer College. Ms. Ashline has served in a variety of human services positions over a span of more than 20 years. She has served as a director for a prevention program serving children at risk of compulsory placement, supervisor of a community outreach program and supervisor of a foster care/respite program. She also has experience working with an outpatient psychiatric mental health day treatment program and a federally-funded mentoring children of prisoners program.

Ms. Ashline holds a bachelor of arts in sociology/criminal justice and a masters of social work with a clinical concentration, both from SUNY Albany. Professor Ashline is a certified CarePath Recovery Coach through the Mental Health Association of New York State and a certified peer recovery coach. She holds certification in equine assisted psychotherapy and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. She is currently enrolled in the Trauma and Counseling program at SUNY Buffalo.

Professor Ashline has served in a variety of advocacy roles including at The Law Order and Justice Center where she facilitated conflict resolution for middle schools and high schools, and was a court appointed special assistant for suspected cases of abuse and neglect in Family Court. She has served as chairperson of over a dozen committees and has spoken at several high schools, colleges, community and non-profit venues about strength-based programming, wellness, and the human services field as a leading force of innovation for future generations of change agents.
