Herkimer College to Hold Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Herkimer County Community College’s 2017 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held Friday, September 29, 2017 in the Robert McLaughlin College Center, as part of the College’s Fall Fest & Alumni Weekend.

The College will honor five individuals and one team who have made outstanding contributions to the institution through intercollegiate athletics. They are: Cindy Kemler ‘80 (women’s basketball), Chris Wittman (men’s basketball), Brandon Jones ’10 (baseball), Richard Law ’78 (lacrosse), Perry Nizzi (head coach for men’s soccer), and the 1994 men’s soccer team, the men’s soccer program’s first-ever national championship team.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. with a strolling dinner and cocktails, followed by the induction ceremony at 6:30 p.m. and a social hour with dessert. The fee is $45 per person.

Herkimer College’s national championship athletic program is a Division III member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and has amassed 53 national, 105 regional and 148 conference championships. Herkimer is ranked first in the nation among NJCAA non-scholarship athletic programs by winning the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Cup, based on athletic success in championship competition.
