Herkimer College recently opened a new Commuter Student Resource Center, located in the Robert McLaughlin College Center, room 223. The purpose of the Commuter Center is to help commuter and off-campus students feel connected to others and to provide relevant information to aid in balancing home, social and academic responsibilities.

The Center features a “living room” area with couches and a conference table to help facilitate small group conversations and group work. A computer and charging station is available for students to check their email, charge their mobile devices, etc. A resource wall features a digital display for announcements as well as a ride share board and information for commuter students, such as important phone numbers and addresses, off-campus safety, commuter meal plan, tenant, shuttle bus and other transportation information.
