General Studies A.A.

A program tailored to your needs and interests.

Humanities and fine arts, the natural sciences and mathematics, the social sciences—you’ll learn them all when you enroll in HCCC’s General Studies A.A. program. 

You'll work closely with an advisor to tailor a specific program according to your needs and interests—a very beneficial step if you are uncertain of the major you wish to pursue.

As a graduate with a degree in General Studies you'll be able to transfer into a wide array of baccalaureate degree programs, or take advantage of specialized training offered by future employers.

Online Learning

The General Studies A.A. program may also be completed entirely online through our Internet Academy. We offer the same level of care and service to online students as we do to on-campus students. All necessary services are accessible online, including registration, placement testing, bill payment, tutoring, book purchasing, and academic advisement.

Jason Brown

Our General Studies, A.A. program offers the academic flexibility other programs, in general, do not. For instance, students can take a variety of different courses in anything from art to history to mathematics to sciences. They might find themselves firing pottery in a kiln or performing experiments in a science lab on any given day. It’s a real benefit for first-time students who may not know exactly what they want to major yet in that it allows them the ability to explore their interests in a multitude of disciplines.
