Herkimer College Ranks Among Best Community Colleges in New York State

Herkimer County Community College is ranked eighth by Schools.com on their 2017 list of best community colleges in New York State.

Schools.com ranked 35 community colleges, all of which were affiliated with either the City University of New York (CUNY) or the State University of New York (SUNY) systems. Each school was scored on a 10-point scale based on metrics such as student-to-faculty ratio, distance education participation, cost of attendance, flexibility, graduation rates, retention rates and transfer rates.

Herkimer College has one of the lowest student-faculty ratios and some of the highest graduation and transfer rates of all New York community colleges. Herkimer’s in-state tuition rate is among the lowest in New York State.
The College also invests heavily in distance education. Herkimer’s Internet Academy offers 20 associate degrees, three certificates, and about 150 online courses entirely online, as well as a full list of web-based support services. When comparing all two-year online colleges in New York, Herkimer College ranks No. 2 for distance education learners.
