“They Built America” Performance

Herkimer College will host a live performance of “They Built America: The Workers of the Erie Canal” on Thursday, March 5, 2015.

Written by Maggie Mancinelli-Cahill, the performance introduces the men, women, children, politicians, farmers, merchants and laborers who came north to build the Erie Canal. This miraculous waterway transformed America into a great nation with a story that includes George Washington, Irish orphan Molly, Dr. Finch, Italian mason Antonio and others who ignite this momentous event in New York State history. The performance will show how one innovation can set the course of history.
