Men’s soccer hosts Utica College in second exhibition

HERKIMER, NY – The Herkimer Generals men’s soccer team will continue their preseason on Tuesday, August 25^th with an exhibition against the Utica Pioneers at Wehrum Stadium. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Leading the Generals in his 18^th year as Head Coach is Pepe Aragon. Aragon and his team are currently ranked third in the NJCAA DIII, graduating 21 sophomores from a year ago, 11 of them starters. Including in those starters was two All-American’s Ben Polk (Banbury, UK) and Jermaine Windster (Rotterdam, Holland) and two first team All-Region selections Connor Shearer (Oneonta, NY) and Mitch White (Leicester, England).

Returning is All-Conference and All-Region member Moulid Somow (Utica, NY). The midfielder had three goals and 17 assists in 20 games as a freshman. His 17 assists were third best nationally.

Herkimer has lost a total of two games in their last two seasons, seeing Aragon win his 300^th career game in 2014 after the team defeated Onondaga Community College 5-1. Aragon is currently 315-28-15. The team’s regular season open is against Bergen Community College on Saturday, August 29^th at Wehrum Stadium.
