Ward honored as Region III Athlete of the Week

HERKIMER, NY – Herkimer Generals women’s soccer player Teigha Ward was selected as week seven Region III Athlete of the Week Wednesday (10/14), helping the Generals defeat conference rival Mohawk Valley last week 4-0 to improve to 12-1.

In the teams’ only game last week against the Hawks Ward had a goal and an assist, the sixth time this season she’s recorded both in a game. The forward has scored in eight of the 10 games played in, now ranking fourth nationally in goals (20) and seventh in assists (11).

“I am proud of the accomplishment and the recognition Teigha continues to receive from her peers,” said Herkimer Generals Women’s Soccer Coach Ryan Brooks-Newton. “It shows that with hard work comes success.”
