#3 Lions advance with 2-0 win over #6 Bergen
HERKIMER, NY – Scoring a goal in each half of Thursday’s (11/12) NJCAA DIII National Quarterfinal game helped propel #3 Nassau to the semifinals, defeating #6 Bergen 2-0 in regulation.
Nassau (19-2-1) netted their first goal in the 34th, watching Marvin Eveillard score his 34th goal of the season.
It remained 1-0 in favor of the Lions until the second half when Etienne Botty gave Nassau a 2-0 lead in the 73rd minute. It was Botty’s seven goal of the season.
Up next for #3 Nassau is #2 Richland. The Thunderducks defeated Montgomery 2-0 to advance to the semifinal. Game time between the lions and Thunderducks is 6:30 p.m. on Friday (11/13).
As for Bergen, they’ll face #7 Montgomery on Friday in a consolation game. It’s scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
