Gladstone selected Green & Gold Male Athlete for January

HERKIMER, NY – Herkimer Generals bowler Matt Gladstone of Norwich, NY was named Green & Gold Male Athlete of the Month for January.

Gladstone, a Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major at Herkimer College, finished the month as the best bowler in the conference after a slow start, posting a 228.5 average with a high of 269 and high-triple of 760 in his last two matches of January. At Schenectady, the freshman helped the men to a second overall finish when he bowled 708 (187, 265, 256) and 260 (225, 269, 266) back-to-back, then backed it up with a 622 (182, 187, 253) and 652 (222, 218, 212) at Mohawk Valley the following week.

“Matt is currently a top the Mountain Valley Conference with one match event left,” said Head Bowling Coach Jason Rathbun. “He’s holding off four strong bowlers from Schenectady, and has really set the standard for our program. Gladstone has knocked down 2,742 pins over 12 games.”
