Ward accepts scholarship to play for DII Wildcats

HERKIMER, NY – Herkimer Generals women’s soccer player Teigha Ward (Ilion, NY) has accepted an athletic scholarship to continue her collegiate career at Division II Wilmington University in Delaware.

Ward, an Education: Physical Education major at Herkimer College, accumulated 50 goals, 22 assists and 122 points for the Generals in two years, helping the program to consecutive Region III championships which had never been done before. She was a two time NJCAA All-American, a two time NSCAA All-American, Region 3 Player of the Year and Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year.

“We are extremely proud of what Teigha has accomplished at Herkimer and we will be following her closely and cheering her on at Wilmington,” said Acting Women’s Soccer Head Coach Jason Palkovic. “They have got a great player and an even better person in Teigha. We are going to miss her!”
