Meyer carries Generals over Fulton-Montgomery

This weekend the Generals travelled to Fulton-Montgomery Community college where they played in their first game away from home. The Generals started off a bit unlucky as they fell behind with a 0-1 deficit at the 18 minute mark from a goal scored by Raider’s #10 Austin Heroth.

Herkimer General #12 Willie Meyer answered back in spades. After coming off the bench in the first half for the Generals, Meyer scored 3 goals to quickly give Herkimer the lead 3-1 at the half. Meyer wasn’t finished doing damage however as he scored two more goals in the second half and assisted the other to Camilo Avendano to give Herkimer the win over Fulton-Montgomery 6-1. It was Meyer’s confident presence on the field that led Herkimer’s reign as the #5 Generals outshot the Raiders an impressive 31-7.

“Will was excellent today. He came off the bench to score 5 goals and add 1 assist today. He made a huge impact on our offense today,” says head coach Pepe Aragon.

The Generals look to continue their success this Wednesday (9/14) as they host Tompkins Cortland Community College at 7pm.
