Last Wednesday Herkimer Men’s soccer went on the road to take on the North Country Community College Saints.  Herkimer started the game off patient and focused.  The first ball to reach the back of the net for Herkimer landed in the 21st minute by sophomore midfielder #8 Jordan Sailing (Haledon, NJ) assisted by #24 Luke Murphy (Glasgow, Scotland).  Sailing also scored the only other goal in the second half just ten minutes later assisted by #16 Carlos Beltran (Central Islip, NY).

The Generals’ offense was on fire the second half as they came back from halftime hungry for more. The first goal of the half came from #24 Murphy just one minute into it assisted by freshman #17 Ferguson Ward.  Sophomore forward #10 Dajhal Kelly (Saint Kitts, Caribbean Sea) scored the fourth goal for Herkimer, assisted by #32 Issak Somow (Utica, NY).  #12 Will Meyer kept his scoring streak going as he put away the Generals’ fifth goal of the evening unassisted in the 70th minute.  But the Generals were not finished there.  The cherry on top came from freshman midfielder #6 Oscar Forero (Ossining, NY) with just seven minutes left in the game.  Forero’s goal was assisted by #20 freshman defender Luke Wakeling (Rayleigh, England) which left the final score 6-0, Generals over Saints.

Herkimer has now turned their sights to tomorrow’s (9/24) big game versus first ranked SUNY Broome Hornets away at 1pm.
