Women's Soccer Washes Away Riverhawks in Second Half

The Herkimer Generals hosted the Anne Arundel Riverhawks last Saturday (10/1) at Wehrum Stadium.  Our ladies finished on top with a 6-0 win.  It took some time for the Generals to produce such impressive results offensively as five out of the six goals scored were in the second half.  Defensively Herkimer played a solid defensive game holding Anne Arundel scoreless.  Generals’ goalkeeper #1 Honesti Crochran (Wingdale, NY) left the game with five saves at the 78 minute mark and #0 Kenzie Bradshaw (Oswego, NY) kept the net locked down for the remainder of the game with one save.  At the end of the first half Herkimer led 1-0 from a goal scored by #13 Mikayla Blumenstock (Poland, NY) assisted by #7 Jenna Rogers (Port Leyden, NY). 

The Herkimer offense really turned it on the second half starting with a goal from #10 Grace Johnson (Tully, NY) assisted by Blumenstock.  Less than two minutes later Blumenstock finished another goal unassisted.  Johnson netted her second goal later that half from a feed by #17 Alexis Darrow (Poland, NY).  Herkimer Generals #2 Alexis Ramos (Utic
