Herkimer, NY – Herkimer College men’s soccer players Dajhal Kelly and Eddie Speed were recently named Mountain Valley Conference co-Players of the Year.

Kelly, a striker from St. Kitts, recorded 21 goals and five assists on the season and Speed, from Chester, England, had two goals and four assists as a defensive workhorse in the midfield and back. Five other Generals were selected to the conference team as well. Freshman striker Luke Murphy (Glasgow, Scotland) scored nine goals with 11 assists, central mid-fielder Jordan Saling (Haledon, NJ) recorded 12 goals and nine assists and defensive central mid-fielder Mike Pope (East Longmeadow, Mass) had two goals. Defenders Maans Sorensen (Stockholm, Sweeden) and Kadeem Joseph (Brooklyn NY) were part of a defense that had 10 shutouts on the season.

“All seven players are well deserving of their awards. To have seven players selected for 13 spots and to have conference co-players of the year is very impressive,” said Aragon.
