Women's Basketball Stays Strong in Fourth Quarter

(Herkimer, NY) In a close game over the Columbia-Greene Twins the Herkimer Generals women's basketball team strongly held the lead in the final minutes to earn the win.  At the end of the first half the Generals only held a 6 point lead.  The second half was characterized by high intensity from both teams as the score remained close throughout.  With only one minute left in the third quarter the Twins tied it up 44-44 on an open three.  In the fourth quarter the Generals created another 6 point lead with only 3 minutes left in the game.  The Twins kept the Generals at the foul line to try to stop the clock and prolong the game, but Herkimer was able to capitalize and hold the lead throughout, with a final score of 68-65.  The Generals will play again next Wednesday (1/25) as they travel to North Country Community College for a 5PM tip-off.
