Three score in double figures against the Raiders

Wbball 2014 10 1

JOHNSTOWN, NY – Looking to turn the page on a below average start in their first 10 games, the Herkimer Generals Women's Basketball team took on Fulton Montgomery Community College Thursday evening, in Raider country. A valiant effort gave the Generals the lead twice in the second half, but the Raiders prevailed by the end of the game, winning 65-60.

Herkimer 4-7 (1-2 MVC) lost their second consecutive game despite strong efforts from Emily Rexford (Canton, NY), Korey Bunal(Rome, NY) and Alyssa Craig (Fonda, NY). The group combined for 38 points, with Rexford leading the way with 16 points. Following her was Bunal with 12 and Craig with 10.

Other scorers in the game were Samantha Randio (Ravena, NY), Shahadah Williams (Syracuse, NY) and Kaylyn Dickerson(Douglasville, GA). Randio finished with seven, Williams finished with eight and Dickerson finished with seven.

Herkimer will host SUNY Delhi this Saturday (1/11) before three consecutive away games. Three of those games will be against Mountain Valley Conference foes. A win streak would certainly put the Generals back in the thick of things with 11 games left in the regular season schedule after the road trip.
