Marston bowls 630 series in first week

(Joseph Hilts bowled a 462 series in his second match at Columbia-Greene).

HERKIMER, NY – The Herkimer Generals Men’s Bowling team started their season last week competing in two tournaments, one in Hudson Valley (1/21) and one in Columbia-Greene (1/22). After both matches, the team combined for 4,634 pins, giving them fifth place in the conference behind Schenectady County Community College, Hudson Valley, Mohawk Valley and SUNY Adirondack.

Helping the men to those totals were Trevor Marston (Georgetown, NY), Christopher LaJuett (Troy, NY), Joseph Hilts (Marcy, NY), Philip Tanner (Deposit, NY) and Thomas Carlson (Apalachin, NY). Marston led the team in both matches, averaging 199.3 (221, 193 and 184) in Hudson Valley and 210.0 (234, 190 and 206) in Columbia-Greene. After Marston, LaJuett averaged 162.0 in the first match and 201.3 in the second, Hilts averaged 158.7 in the first and 154.0 in the second, Tanner averaged 132.7 in the first and 137.3 in the second and Carlson averaged 84.0 in the first and 105.3 in the second.

The men’s next match is Wednesday, January 29th. This time the team will travel to SUNY Adirondack. Competition is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
