Henry and McAvoy named to 2013 NSCAA All-American Team

HERKIMER, NY - Herkimer County Community College men's soccer goalie Triston Henry, (Scarborough, Ontario, Canada) and defender Peter McAvoy (Dundee, Scotland) were both named to the 2013 NSCAA All-American first team.

This is Henry's second year selected as an NSCAA All-American. He has 29 career shutouts including last year's and this year's National Championship games. Henry only conceded four goals this past season.

"Triston is one of the best goalkeepers that I ever had in 16 years of coaching," said Head Coach Pepe Aragon. "He made two of the most amazing saves in the national championship game."

McAvoy, who was also named Region III Player of the Year, was the leading scorer with 15 goals. The final three were game-winning goals in the NJCAA DIII National Tournament. McAvoy was part of a defense that allowed only five goals all season.

"Pete is a true leader on the field. I never had a central back play such a huge part in both our defense and offense. He had seven go-ahead goals for us this season," Aragon concluded.

Both men played in 18 games for the Generals in 2013, helping the program win its 10th NJCAA Division III National Championship and third consecutive. Together, McAvoy and Henry helped the Generals to a 37-3 record in two seasons.
